Medicare 2012
Prepare Your Practice for Audits and Upcoming Changes
The Texas Medical Association will host the annual Medicare 2012 seminar series. “Medicare 2012” is an information-packed, half-day seminar that will help physicians and their staff prepare for audits, electronic health record (EHR) incentives incentives/meaningful use, and important Medicare updates. Beginning Nov. 2, this program will go to Abilene, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, McAllen, Dallas, Tyler, and Fort Worth. Our speaker, TMA reimbursement specialist Erin Gregorcyk Smith, CPC, will take a look at fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare system; give an overview of the many audits facing physician practices; and Medicare general and coding updates. Shannon Moore or Tyler Patterson, TMA health information technology specialists, will be on the agenda to discuss EHR incentives, meaningful use, and HIPAA 5010. Physicians are eligible for up to 4 AMA PRA Category1 Credits (3 ethics). This program has prior approval of the American Academy of Professional Coders for 4.0 continuing education units.

Click HERE for flyer including dates and location.  Please note the flyer also contains information on the HIPAA 5010 standards effective January 1, 2012.
